How Much Should I Invest in a Custom Tune?

By Ray McClelland Sr. – Full Throttle Kustomz

Money equates to time.

Each setup is different, and also depending on what type of system is being used (piggy back, chip, stand-alone, supercharged, naturally aspirated, street or race only, etc) tune costs can range from $250 to $1500.

Don’t be afraid to spend money on a good tune. This is the final piece to your custom puzzle and getting the most from your tune is critical. Trying to save dollars here can be the difference between winning or losing, fun to drive or a temperamental pain in the ass on the street, getting years of cruising fun or rebuilding your engine a month later. Do your homework and ask questions!

But… if you end up with your street car running like hell from the $200 – 3-pull, custom tunes that are done in one hour, your pocket book will thank you!”
